The AKG C747 is an electret condenser mic only 135mm long and 9mm dia. It provides an elegant solution to the problem of placing a microphone such that it won't stand out visually.  

This is the Industry Standard for Lectern Conference Microphones used by Audio Visual Hire Companies. 

Film and TV crews are already deploying this model as part of their kit. It is an unconventional design optimised for high sensitivity and smooth frequency response. Although directional with a hypercardioid pick up pattern, the C747 is not a mini shotgun design. One intended application is as a spot mic to bring out a particular instrument, performer or speaker. The accessory list includes an H7 anti shock Mic Clamp, 140mm Gooseneck, Stand Adaptor, Mounting Clamp, Screw Link and Foam W/shield. Phantom powered 9-52 volts.
